House Rules /  TDA

2 Types of Rules

At Ace High, there are two different types of rule subsets. These include house rules, and official TDA certified rulings. There are a few rules at Ace High that draw on the interpretations aspect of the TDA rulset

Betting Line

We enforce the betting line, not forward motion. Unless the dealer / floor determines that the motion was an angle shoot specifically designed to intice action / get information, forward motion will never be a binding action. We use our betting line as the binding betting threshold. If a chip crosses the line, unless it is in one fluid motion and released in a clump of chips (holding a stack of 10 chips and dropping 5), whatever crosses the line is a binding bet / call / raise.

Verbal is Binding

If a player announces an action, the player must do so. This includes, but is not limited to, announcing "pot" / "all-in" / "fold" (in relevant games)

Protect Your Hand

At all times, the player is responsible for their own cards being protected. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring your cards are visible and not in a way that the dealer assumes a fold has taken place.

Two Cards to Win

At showdown, a player must table both of their hole cards (or more if necessary, depending on game) to claim a pot. Dealer will not, and cannot, inform a player to do so. If their cards are on the table and not face up, and have crossed the betting line, it is assumed to be a muck.
